1. Leave Them Du'a
Begin with du'a. Ask Allah سبحانه وتعالى to make your children righteous, establish them upon salah, and protect their iman.
Ibrahim عليه السلام asked:
2. Leave Them Knowledge
Do not leave your children's Islamic education to chance.
Teach them Qur'an and its meanings, Arabic, foundational hadith, aqeedah, fiqh, seerah, and the lives of the Sahabah رضي الله عنهم and scholars رحمهم الله.
The greatest inheritance is not simply knowing what your parents owned. It is knowing what your parents believed, why they believed it, and how they worshipped Allah سبحانه وتعالى.
Knowledge can continue benefiting them long after you are gone.
3. Leave Them a Library
Build an Islamic library in your home.
Collect Qur'an, tafsir, hadith, seerah, Arabic, fiqh, and biographies of the righteous. Read these books together. Mark important passages. Write notes. Let your children see that seeking knowledge was part of family life.
One day, your grandchildren may open a book and discover the notes their grandfather or grandmother left behind.
That is an inheritance money cannot provide.
Leave your children the house, business, savings, and investments if Allah سبحانه وتعالى allows.
But leave them something greater as well:
Du'a that protects them.
Knowledge that guides them.
Books that continue teaching them.
The goal is not merely to leave children who inherit what you built.
It is to leave a generation capable of building upon it while remaining faithful to Allah سبحانه وتعالى.
