One of the dangers of modern life is never feeling like you have enough.
More wealth. More status. More recognition. Then a little more.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Two wolves free among sheep are no more destructive to them than a man’s desire for wealth and honor is to his religion.”

Wealth Is Not What Made the Sahabah Great
We often admire the wealth of ‘Abdur-Rahman ibn ‘Awf رضي الله عنه and other wealthy Sahabah رضي الله عنهم. But their greatness was never simply measured by what they owned.
They were great because of how they worshipped Allah, spent their wealth, sacrificed, served the Ummah, and kept the dunya in their hands rather than their hearts.
The Prophet ﷺ himself made du‘a:
“O Allah, make the provision of Muhammad’s family sufficient just to sustain life.”

Islam does not command poverty. It teaches us to seek halal provision, become self-sufficient, give generously, build, and serve without becoming enslaved to the desire for more.
Make Wealth Serve a Purpose
A Muslim founder should want resources for a reason.
To provide for his family.
To employ people.
To invest.
To give sadaqah.
To build institutions.
To strengthen the Ummah.
The goal is not necessarily to own less.
The goal is to ensure that what you own never owns you.
If more wealth brings more responsibility, generosity, and benefit, it can be a blessing. But if "more" simply means more status, more recognition, and another number to chase, the wolf is already at the door.
