One of the blessings of Islam is that almost every part of life is connected to Allah سبحانه وتعالى. The Muslim does not move through life independently. He constantly asks Allah for guidance, protection, provision, and goodness.
For Muslim founders, this should include the beginning of the working day.
After Fajr, the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم would say:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
"O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision and acceptable deeds."
Sunan Ibn Mājah 925, graded Sahih.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

Ask for Beneficial Knowledge
Notice what comes first: knowledge.
A Muslim founder needs knowledge to distinguish halal from haram, make sound decisions, recognize mistakes, and understand how to conduct business according to the commands of Allah سبحانه وتعالى.
Before asking how much you can accomplish, ask whether you understand what you are doing.
Ask for Good Provision
The duʿā does not simply ask for wealth. It asks for good and pure provision.
Revenue alone is not success. A Muslim seeks rizq that is halal and carries barakah.
More money earned through impermissible means is not an achievement. The goal is provision that pleases Allah سبحانه وتعالى.
Ask for Accepted Deeds
Finally, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم taught us to ask for accepted deeds.
A productive day means little if the work itself is not pleasing to Allah. Our businesses, careers, and daily responsibilities are all part of the life for which we will be accountable.
Start the day by asking Allah for knowledge, provision, and accepted deeds, then go build.
